Photography?

I am not very good at photography, it was the only free domain name. Aside from that important clarification, I want to tell you about the modules I have this semester and my feelings on them. I study journalism.

There is TW4006 – Writing in New Media, the module these blogs are for. Compared to the others, it seems very relaxed. Weekly blog assignments and making a website offer most of the marks, with the rest of the marks being based on attendance.

The other modules are not ideal. JM4031 – Sub Editing and Design and JM4013 – Radio Journalism can appear quite daunting at times, more so the latter.

JM4031 teaches us how to edit news and organise newspaper layouts It is simple, in concept. I’ll get better at it. I can’t work on projects at home though, as Adobe InDesign is far too expensive for the poor, pocket-stretched student.

JM4013 is centred around a radio package. A radio package is a compilation of interviews and focuses on the main elements of a story. My piece is on a local cinema that plays foreign-language films. The thought of interviewing people is equal parts exciting and nerve-wracking.

PA4022 – Introduction To Public Admin II is my first elective class. LULITMI, a group project where you make rules for a new country is its main focus . My group is making rules on the sustainable consumption of natural resources. It’s stressful and time-consuming. Merciless.

SO4008- Sociology of Media Audiences is my fifth and final class.Sociology is not interesting to me. I’m counting down the days until I get to drop it.

That’s all I can say on them at the moment. Maybe they’ll be more interesting next week. Maybe they’re boring. Maybe I’m boring. Maybe I’ll find out next week.
