Website

I made my website for technical writing.

It’s decent, given I’ve never made one before. I used WordPress , the website I’m using to tell you guys about it. Meta. This is the one blog with a fixed subject. This is not going to be me moaning about how bad my life is. My website provides information on athletes underappreciated and overlooked by others. Here’s the link: https://cultsportsstars.wordpress.com/

I chose my theme and I got to work. My theme has a modern, stylish look. There’s a space for a photo in the theme, which I used. I changed the settings of the background so the photo could move when you scroll down the page. It helped with the design too.

I made eight pages – one a designated homepage, five for separate sports, an ‘about’ page and a ‘contact’ page. For the last two pages mentioned, I came up with a background story and contact details because the site doesn’t have to be for a real company. With that leeway given to us, I decided to make the ‘founders’ sound as interesting as possible.

My separate pages on sport are – football, mixed martial arts, basketball, american football and rugby. I named the pages for basketball and american football ‘NBA’ and ‘NFL’ as they are the most prominent leagues concerning those sports. I filled the pages with small profiles on athletes, images of them and videos of their talents.

I initially made posts about these athletes and put them into the pages but I felt it was not what I was supposed to do. They still exist as a feed on the home page, to help it look full.

This is also my last blog. Abrupt ending, right? Still better than ‘Game of Thrones’ in my opinion.
